Honestly, I was in the kitchen, Sam was in the lounge and it was just like they were in the same room together -- still chatting away about important boy things like Pokemon and burping

Aussie time is about 10 hrs in front of us so at the weekend Sam can get a chat in before his mate goes to bed.

Wow what a fun but tiring day we all had yesterday at the NEC -- it was so busy, not as much scrapping stuff as I've seen at the show before but I still managed to come back with a tidy haul.

There are some other boring to look at but essential bits too like polystyrene balls and double sided tape but my fav. things to find were the coredinations paper packs and bazzill dot paper which looks better IRL.

Warwick Castle Day Trip

We has wonderful family trip out to Warwick Castle.

They are running Halloween specials this week which really kicked in when it started to go dark--spooky

Here are piccies of the back of the castle and the view from the top

There are 530 steps in total around the ramparts and towers--a lot of climbing is good for the thighs!

There are peacocks all over the Castle grounds--they are such beautiful birds--it was lovely to get close to them

Although the Autumn sun is shining in these photos, just a few hours later it was freezing cold and the hail was falling

It was my birthday--(well 20 days ago)---and her are 3 of my fav. pressies

This LO is made with Basic Grey Granola papers which are in lovely shades of blues and browns

layered up flowers, brads and a chipboard embellie. Plus stitching, rub ons and other bits from stash

This little cat was such a sweetie and we miss her..

bellaboo . It was the shops 1st birthday, congrats again Liberty, and she arranged an all day crop with the great Cleo teaching 3 classes of which I did 2.

I had a go at lots of new things like stitching on a LO and layer, layer and then layer again and I'm really pleased with my finished LO

This gorgeous star is a plain wood laser cut being sold in packs of 12 as Xmas decorations. I've painted it up with acrylics now to match the LO.

Now on to the cakes which are Blueberry Oatie Muffins--the recipe was on the back of the oat bag and the do taste yum

This was achieved by using the Adobe Photoshop programme.

I'm quite pleased with it but may hand wasn't very steady around the edges - I need more practise before printing anything off!

Anyway I'm really going to make an effort to learn what else I can do with this programme.

I love this Cosmo Cricket paper which is strangely called 'Chicken Little'

I used Jenny Bowlin Paper, October Afternoon, Clocks & a Prima stamp and other bits. I haven't done the journalling yet as I can't think what to write :-) The large metal butterfly was taken off a 99p head slide

Surprisingly this paper is made by K&Co plus the cut out words came from a corresponding word fetti sheet

This is just a fun LO which is quite bright for me but I did enjoy making it and even managed to squeeze on some cherryart rub-ons

'Brothers' LO

The first LO to be completed on my new table--I loved using the new big space, much easier
This LO was started at a crop but I didn't like the way it was going.I couldn't think how to finish it off so I've left is for about 4 weeks before looking again, by which time I had bought some chipboard thickers...I coated them with Tim Holtz crackle paint in frayed burlap--looking forward to getting the new white one and maybe the pewter when I see them. This LO has also got a large 'Brothers' rub-on in a lovely font.
I also made some paper strips, distressed the edges and punched the holes, then used the tea dye ink pad to alter the colour a little

Whilst we were on holiday in Cornwall we came across scrapangels --what a spot of luck.

I highly recommend a visit--she's got some really lovely stuff in, much more than online.

Samuel decided it was time to have a go at his first LO when we got home so he bought paper and pirate buttons to be prepared (& I had to buy a few bits and pieces too just because...)

We took a weekend break recently to visit my Dad & his wife,Pam.
Whilst there we decided a trip to the seafront at Prestatyn was the order of the day.
Well what a visit that turned out to be--it was soooo windy -- you couldn't stand up straight!! But it's what it did to the sea itself that was so amazing....the beach became a sea of foam the likes of which I've never seen before.
Of course the boys had to get on down there for some fun. Hubby went to and took some amazing photos.
The one I used in this LO is my fav. piccy of that day, it was blown up in size for a better effect.

Samuel thinks he looks like a super hero battling the elements so he became 'Super Sea Foam Boy' for this LO.

Using papers from the LYB range Zach's Life (again-I still love them), I cut out the swirly pattern, traced the lines with glue and covered with white flock. Never tried that before & I'm really pleased with the result.
A 'GO' rub on, some brads & 1 clear arrow glued on with glossy accents.

The title is made with warm white acrylic paint & sponge foam letters are L'il Davis--I got them in a sale somewhere for a bargain £3
I layered up the letters for a better effect.

I'm enjoying using paints in my LO's and I'm really pleased with the results.

And now for my Eldest Son...

This LO is again using Zach's life papers plus a rub ons, brads, and Autumn Leaves Stamps but there is an awful lot of journalling on here too. Written straight on to the background papers and filling the LO.

I saw a LO on UKS using cut out words from an old book and I thought if I could find the right type of words etc I could make a special LO dedicated to my 15yr old.

I'm so pleased with the resulting LO--some of the journalling is quite thought provoking and some only things that we could know as a family.

It was a challenge but I'm glad I did it.

Here is Freddy

He was lost -I found him-he stayed with me for 4hrs & then his owner was tracked down.

If he'd been wearing a tag he could have gone home a lot sooner as he was close to going to the local Recue Centre.

Anyway, I'm glad to say he is now back home with his family--but my word he is SO CUTE.

My 'Cal Just Laugh' LO

Callum is 15 years old now and a totally different boy than when he was just 6 years old.

Different in more ways than just looks.

Well he is a teenager--say no more!!

This LO uses Rusty Pickle Pirate paper 'Sparrow's Stripes', sticker letters, 4 buttons & a Paper Loft well word

but I also tried some effects new too me. On the edges of the paper, which where torn and curled up, I embossed with copper powder. I used the embossing liquid to create a 'run' look.

I also used some acrylic paints and printed the background effect with bubble wrap

I'm really please with the finished LO and will prob. try some of the effects again

A Sunday Afternoon project--Altered cubes

OK- so this was a kids cube game bought in a 2nd hand shop for £1.50

Each little plastic cube comes apart--originally I was going to put photos in each one but I thought I'd do some paper craft work first--photos can go in later when I'm bored with it!

I used the insides as a template

The papers are all K&Co from the little 6x6 ranges

Stamps are mostly from the 'purple onion' and 'impression obsession' ranges

I also used some rub-ons, gel pens and a white pen

I'm quite pleased with the finished result-it's something a bit different and didn't take long to complete

Altered word

I really enjoyed doing this altered word,

it's the first time I've ever tried anything like this and I like the finished result

It's a ScrapFX word

First I painted it deep blue all over, but didn't like it one colour so started adding different acrylic paints with a MM Foam brush

I rubbed on some metallic cream

Glossy Accents on the 'A'

Crackle Accents on the 'L'

White Sharpie pen

2 buttons

and rubber stamped the word 'create' on the large 'S'
